Free Investing Tips: Free Tips for Your Retirement Investing

Custom Search

Free investing tips are available all over the Internet, but are they always the best advice? Not always.

For some free investing tips that are low risk and will help you save for your retirement, keep reading.

These tips aren't for everyone, they are designed for the investor looking for good returns, but a minimal amount of risk.

Look for an REIT Index Fund

Recommending an REIT (Real Estate Investment Trust) index fund is one of my favorite free investing tips.

An art EIT indexed on is the only way to diversify your retirement investment portfolio with real estate investments.

The best part is that these real estate investments are managed by professional real estate investors.

By choosing an index fund, you'll be getting a range of all REIT’s. This means if one decreases in value, the diversity of an index can help hold it up.

Mutual Funds

Mutual funds are a great way to invest money without a lot of risk, as these funds are managed by fund managers and investment professionals. However, that doesn't mean that every mutual fund is a good idea.

One of the best free investing tips you’ll need is to always read the prospectus before you buy. A mutual fund's prospectus is a glance at its performance over the past few years.

You can then see how a mutual fund has performed, particularly when you're comparing it to other mutual fund investments. However, past performance doesn't always guarantee future results.

Invest in Bonds

One third of all your investments and assets, particularly if you're nearing retirement, should be in bonds. You can build your bond portfolio by investing in bonds, mutual funds.

This is essentially getting free investing tips from a bond mutual fund manager.

Using Balanced Funds, or Asset Allocation Funds

If you're on the hunt for free investing tips and really want to keep things simple, try balanced funds or asset allocation funds. These can make your retirement account investing simple and automatic.

Balanced funds or asset allocation funds basically diversify your retirement portfolio for you.

They select a mix of bonds, stocks and cash all in one fund, depending on how close you are to retirement and your risk threshold.

Stay Away from Financial Pornography

One of the media's favorite tactics is to scare you.

One day you're investing for the long term, you have a retirement plan, and then suddenly every newscaster is telling you that the market is crashing and to pull out now. That is sensationalism.

If you have the time to stay the course, one of the best free investing tips you'll ever get is to stop listening to sensationalism and start thinking for yourself.
